The Annapolis Tea Company, located in Scottsdale
Village, has soups, sandwiches and huge assortment
of tea. It is one of the few places where I can order
most every sandwich on the menu in gluten-free
form. The sandwiches are made with gluten-free
bread that acts like sandwich bread. In other words,
it doesn't crumble when handled. The combinations
I've tried are original or a perfect version of a
traditional sandwich. I prefer whatever I order to be
grilled and the restaurant procedure is to grill
gluten-free sandwiches in clean sauté pans. Everyone
that's accompanied me to The Annapolis Tea
Company for lunch has commented that their
sandwiches have been among the best they've ever
had.
There are two gluten-free soups on the menu. I've
only tried the Green Chili Chicken Soup which is
pictured here. The broth is incredible and the soup
contains big pieces of chicken breast along with
carrots and the green chili. I plan on making special
trips here all winter long just for this soup.
The only part of the menu more extensive than the
sandwich section is the tea menu. If you are a tea
lover, this is definitely the place for you. The owner
tells me that all the teas are gluten free with the
exception of any teas made with barley.
