The Kirtland AFB Commissary has a fair amount of
shelf space devoted to gluten-free products
throughout the store with a concentration of foods
next to the section with vitamins. Sometimes these
foods are priced substantially lower than civilian
counterparts and sometimes the prices are the same
or higher.
The Commissary consistently stocks a good selection of Bob's Red Mill mixes for breads and baked goods along with several of Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flours next to the vitamins. Additionally, a variety of gluten-free pastas and snack foods are stored here. Nature's Path EnviroKidz and Gluten-Free Chex cereals are mixed in with other cereals and the full line of Betty Crocker Gluten Free mixes can be found in the aisle with cake mixes.
Amy's gluten-free frozen meals and gluten-free frozen pizzas are mixed in with similar frozen foods and are sold at prices substantially lower than off base. Nature's Path gluten-free buckwheat waffles are also in the freezer section.
