La Provence is a French restaurant and just like the
restaurants in France, food is created in their kitchen
using only fresh ingredients. The décor is authentic
and half the fun of eating here is listening to your
server describe in great detail the specials or respond
to your questions about their standard menu. You will
quickly realize that there are several naturally
gluten-free options and a few more that can be
adapted to your requirements.
I have ordered the Onion Soup made without the
bread, the Salad Nicoise and several of their daily
specials. I've also made a meal of the Mussels'
Appetizer and the Salad Maison which allows plenty of
room for Crème Brûlée or homemade Sorbet
afterwards.
Although the French Fries here are not gluten free, I
did discover that the sautéed potatoes that
accompany the Salad Nicoise are gluten free. They can
be prepared in the same manner as the Truffle Oil
French Fries and are absolutely delicious.
La Provence participates in the Albuquerque Journal's
Press Pass program. If you have your Press Pass with
you, your meal will be discounted 20%.
