I was a little nervous about going to Pacific Paradise Tropical
Grill and Sushi Bar for lunch. I called just prior to meeting a friend
there, and the person with whom I spoke had no idea what I
meant by gluten free. However, I had a very strong
recommendation from a user of this site so I decided to give the
restaurant a try despite my apprehension.
All my concerns were alleviated when we were seated and I had a
chance to speak with our server. She knew the answers to most of
my questions about ingredients and cross contamination, and she
spoke to the chef about a couple menu items for which she was
unsure. When our meal arrived, she delivered a bottle of
gluten-free tamari sauce to go along with it.
My friend and I decided to share several dishes and all are
pictured here. Vietnamese Summer Rolls are a favorite of mine,
and these were the perfect beginning to a great eating adventure.
Next we tried the Spicy Eggplant even though I 'm not a big fan of
eggplant. However, the dark oyster sauce which included whole
spices was so good that I would return to Pacific Paradise just to
order this. We ended with Rice Pizza. It was good but much more
like a rice casserole than a pizza. It had large pieces of seafood,
vegetables, and pineapple and was topped with cheese. This
entrée also included soup and a small salad.
Pacific Paradise is a cozy restaurant decorated in a tropical theme.
The menu is extensive, the food and service are excellent and the
prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely return!
