GF Brown Rice Rolls and Cinnamon Bread

Several years ago, a high school student working at Albuquerque’sĀ Great Harvest, located on Juan Tabo and Montgomery, developed a variety of recipes for gluten-free breads, bakery items and pancake mix. The gluten-free breads are delicious and several different types of gluten-free bread, including whole grain breads, are baked each week along with an assortment of pastries such as scones and cookies. In my opinion, these gluten-free breads are the very best available and the other baked goods that I’ve sampled have been outstanding. During the holiday season they even have gluten-free stuffing bread, ensuring that you can easily have this Thanksgiving favorite. Like other Great Harvest products, those that are gluten free are relatively expensive.

Great Harvest prepares their premises and bakesĀ their gluten-free products for pick up on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The menu of breads and treats is different each of these days and from week to week with Sundays having the greatest variety. The gluten-free baking schedule is detailed on their web site, and you must place your order by close of business two days prior to pick up.

Occasionally, there are some gluten-free items available even if you don’t order in advance. However, they are gone from their shelves quite early in the day.
